ABOUT PIA

“I look forward to breathing new life into each theatrical production, helping create a masterpiece that entices the hearts and minds of the audience. Theatre and Dance provide freedom of expression and the power to communicate, to educate, and to entertain - this outreach is what makes it exciting for me to create theatre.”

Pia Wyatt is a professional educator, director and choreographer that worked throughout Canada for many years.  While teaching in the Theatre Department at the University of Victoria, British Columbia, she was the Artistic Director and producer of Steel Horse Productions, an Equity company that produced an original musical in Fort Steele Heritage Town’s Wild Horse Theatre for seven seasons. Pia worked in Dawson City, Yukon as a musical theatre performer for eight seasons and has directed and choreographed professionally and academically through her career both locally and internationally.

Co-Artistic Director of KIDCO Dance Company in Victoria, B.C., Canada, Pia was the Senior Musical Theatre, Jazz and Tap Instructor to this dance troupe that performed throughout the nation. While touring with KIDCO, Pia was also the coordinator of Dance Programs at two senior high schools where she was hired as a director and choreographer for their yearly musical.

Pia is the Louisiana Chair for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, Vice-Chair of the Musical Theatre Initiative and was awarded the Advisor of the Year at NSU in 2014. She directs and choreographs in the summer at various theatres both in the United States and in Canada.

Her students have toured extensively during her tenure in Louisiana and she now has students performing on Broadway, and in cruise lines, regional theatres and amusement parks all over the world. Pia encourages all students to explore and nurture their gifts in order to become a theatre and dance professional who can blaze their own trail towards a career of fulfillment, balance, and longevity.
